Your library is your own, with the ability to archive your favorite episodes securely in your personal cloud storage. CastKeeper stores your data locally on your device, and uses Apple's CloudKit framework to sync your data across devices if you have more than one iPhone. No separate login is required for this feature. Archived podcasts are stored securely on your device, iCloud Drive, or your favorite S3-compatible storage provider.
No, we do not collect any data without your explicit consent. Our hosts directory is hosted on a secure database and we do not require any personal information to use this feature. Updates to hosts are submitted by users and verified by our team or the podcast owner before being added to the directory.
CastKeeper currently supports Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, AWS S3, Wasabi, DigitalOcean Spaces, or any Custom S3-compatible storage provider. We recommend that all users read the documentation for their chosen provider to understand the terms of service and pricing.
We are constantly evaluating new cloud storage providers for future updates. However, we consider many factors when evaluating new providers. CastKeeper offers the ability to configure your own S3-compatible storage provider, so you can use the provider of your choice, provided they support the S3 API. CastKeeper never stores your data on our servers. Your data is stored in CloudKit, your iCloud Drive, your S3-compatible storage provider, or your local device. We are not responsible for lost data due to any failures of any third-party service used. It is always recommended that you keep backups of your data.
You can delete your data in CastKeeper, or directly from your iCloud Drive, S3-compatible storage provider, or local device. CastKeeper support cannot delete your data from any of these locations, including CloudKit.
CastKeeper is meant to be your personal podcast archive. If the app detects that your podcasts are stored in a shared or public folder, it may no longer allow you to archive podcasts to that folder. However, you are responsible for applying to all applicable laws and regulations regarding the distribution of podcasts. CastKeeper is not responsible for any copyright infringement or other legal issues that may arise from your use of the app.
AI uses Apple's CoreML framework and Apple Intelligence to provide advanced features like AI summaries and smart chapters.

No. Your purchase of CastKeeper includes all current AI features, provided that your device supports them.
CastKeeper supports transcription translation in over 15 languages, and as Apple continues to add more to their models, we will too make them available in the app as soon as possible.
No. CastKeeper is a one-time purchase and does not require a subscription. Unlike other AI-enabled podcast apps, we believe that users should be able to harness the power of AI without the need to pay a monthly fee. You paid enough for your iPhone, you shouldn't have to pay for AI features on top of that. If your device supports Apple Intelligence, you'll have access to all AI features.
Beyond the initial purchase of CastKeeper, there are no additional costs to use the app. External cloud storage, if used, will be subject to the terms of service and costs of the cloud provider. We recommend you review the pricing and terms of service of any cloud storage provider you choose to use.
